Venas Abiertas is a body of images that gives voice to the complex, continuously transforming, and at times painful story of US, Latin American relations, particularly on the border and Central America. The images are each made as interpretations of, and are titled after, specific texts from important periods in the long history of US policy toward Central America, and Latinx people. The veins rundeep and in many directions. Even through this multifaceted history there is tenacity and perseverance.
